Nairana Study Centre is an initiative of parents that provides a formative environment for their boys.
This environment aims to echo the positive environment and values of their own family homes. Nairana, which began in a backyard in the 1960s, has matured into a multi-faceted educational project that comprises a dedicated staff and runs its activities in a purpose-built facility in Pennant Hills.
Activities of Nairana Study Centre began in 1994, making use of temporary venues in Dural and Pennant Hills. In 2004, a purpose-built facility was opened on Trebor Road, Pennant Hills after years of fundraising by staff, parents and students of Nairana.
The vision for Nairana originated from parents themselves. They desired to have a place, outside of home and school, where their sons could spend time and have the educational values of the home supported. it had to be a place that was enjoyable to visit and at the same time, offered challenges to young people to learn and develop themselves.
The establishment of a ‘study centre’ met these desires. Education Development Association took on the task of establishing Nairana Study Centre, and as with all its projects, stipulated that the centre should be open to all male students, regardless of religious or cultural background.
