Jamberoo Camp 2012

The Jamberoo Camp is one camp not to be missed. It is a 3-day (2 night) camp based in the superb surrounds of the south coast of Sydney. Although we go to Jamberoo Fun Park on the last day of the camp don’t think this camp is going to be all fun and games. The bushwalk on the first day will be tough (but very enjoyable), the caving is no walk in the park (funny that…). Get prepared to leave behind your creature comforts for a few days as we go bush camping. Check out the other pages of the camp website for more information, and have a...

Vietnam Workcamp Update III

We back in Australia after an amazing twenty-one days spent living with and helping the locals in K’Long and Ho Chi Minh City. In the trip we have had a whole range of unique and unforgettable experiences. We leave with the hope that we have genuinely touched the lives of the locals, and with the certainly that our hearts have been touched by the unlimited generosity, selflessness and friendship that they have shown us. The final week of our trip began with a day spend exploring the city of Dalat and its nearby attractions. This included the...

Vietnam Workcamp Update II

After our amazing but brief few days in Saigon it was time for a change of scenery and the next leg of our Vietnamese adventure. On Monday, January 9, after Mass, breakfast and some time cleaning up our lodgings we left for K’long. The bus trip took us most of the day and the highlight was certainly the incredible scenic landscapes provided by the Central Highlands of Vietnam. A close second to this was the petrol station we stopped at on the way which had, by far, the best array of Western food we have encountered so far on the trip. We all...

Vietnam Workcamp Update I

It is late on our last night in Ho Chi Minh City [Saigon]. Tomorrow we leave early in the morning for the 7 hour bus ride to K’long, a small country town near Dalat. These past few day have been non-stop; we will appreciate the trip and take it as an opportunity to catch our breath, hopefully some sleep, and savour some of the fantastic memories from the past few days since we arrived in this amazing city. We left on Tuesday, January 3 and had no delays or problems with the flight to Ho Chi Minh City. We had a 1 hour stop-over in Darwin and...
