Latest News The Vietnam Workcamp 28th December 2015 – 14th January 2016 Usually workcamps or service projects involve roughly 20 young men from high school and university who are willing to give of their time and money to build, educate and interact with a community in need somewhere in the world. This year however due to a lack of people power to organise multiple workcamps for the summer holidays of 2015-2016 various centres looked after by the Education Development Association teamed together. So in total we had a group of 39 guys...

Boys choose to give rather than take in Vietnam

Boys choose to give rather than take in Vietnam

In Australia ‘schoolies’ is a welcomed phenomenon; a place where recent high school graduates can go to ‘lose themselves’ to partying and everything in between. But fear not, change is in the air. I recently experienced this change when a group of 14 high school students decided to save up some cash and instead of ‘losing themselves’ they traveled to Vietnam for three weeks to give of their time to a few poor communities. Not only did they save money to pay for their plane tickets, they paid for a few...

Report: Jamberoo 2012

The Jamberoo Camp   Written by Joshua Weimer (Year 8), Kai Wiemer (Year 7) and Joseph Chee (Year 8 )   Day 1 We left Nairana early in the morning and spent hours on a long and tiring road trip. On our arrival at Bungonia Gorge, we had lunch and then embarked on a 3.8 km journey. Even though it was meant to be a 2 hour walk, it took us 5 hours. Undernourished, we clambered among gigantic, rocky behemoths which made everyone stumble around breathless. That night we went caving in the grill cave. Since it was the first time we went caving,...

Jamberoo Camp 2012

The Jamberoo Camp is one camp not to be missed. It is a 3-day (2 night) camp based in the superb surrounds of the south coast of Sydney. Although we go to Jamberoo Fun Park on the last day of the camp don’t think this camp is going to be all fun and games. The bushwalk on the first day will be tough (but very enjoyable), the caving is no walk in the park (funny that…). Get prepared to leave behind your creature comforts for a few days as we go bush camping. Check out the other pages of the camp website for more information, and have a geezer...
