The boys that attend Nairana try to live a custom that Saint Josemaria Escriva implemented in hospitals and slum areas of Madrid in the 1930s: visits to the poor and sick. This habit of following the Gospel has always been common practice among Christians of all time.

Boys give of their time generously to this service for the disadvantaged, thereby learning to discover the joy of selflessly serving others in need. The boys, amongst other things, make regular visits to nursing homes and assist in the feeding of homeless and disadvantaged members of the local community.

Nairana Community Services is an organisation sponsored by Nairana Study Centre that coordinates young volunteers to help out in the following community service activities:

  1. Feeding the homeless and unemployed through the “Vinnies Van” Program at Penrith and Parramatta
  2. Organising volunteer service projects that contribute towards the immediate welfare and sustainable development of various disadvantaged communities. These may have a duration of 1 to 3 weeks
  3. Visiting and assisting at local nursing homes
  4. Assisting elderly people and promoting the activities of Pennant Hills Neighbour Aid
