Year 9 Duke of Edinburgh Exploration Camp – Blue Mountains

These winter holidays we are going to explore the Blue Mountains like never before. The region is a diverse mix of temperate rainforest, native forest and heathland; rugged sandstone cliffs, deep canyons, towering waterfalls and ancient cave systems. It supports more than 100 of the world’s eucalypt species and over 400 kinds of vertebrates, including mammals, birds and reptiles.
Our time is limited so we will be cramming a lot of activity into the 2 days we will be up there including:
- The Oaks Fire Trail by Bike – a classic Blue Mountains trail. Includes a massive 14 km downhill! Check out the elevation map
- Ruined Castle bush walk – an awesome 8km bushwalk in the Blue Mountains. Amazing scenery!
- Blue Mountains Chocolate Factory – chocolate making demonstrations and free tastings
- Kurrajong Radio Museum
- Lithgow Small Arms Museum
- plus much more…
